What gutter guards covers

High Quality Roofing installs gutter guards on San Jose homes: the gutters are cleaned and repaired first, then guards are fitted along each run to keep leaves, needles and seed pods out while rain still flows in. It suits homes under heavy tree cover that fill their gutters more than once a season. The estimate is free.

Who calls us for this

Homes beside oaks, pines and other trees that fill the gutters within weeks of a cleaning, two-story houses where climbing a ladder twice a year is a real risk, and anyone tired of paying for the same clean every few months.

Signs you need gutter guards.

  • You clean the gutters more than once a year

If the gutters are full again by mid-winter, guards will usually pay for themselves in cleanings you no longer need.

  • Pine needles are the main culprit

Needles slip through coarse screens, so the guard type matters. We explain which one suits the trees around your house.

  • Downspouts keep clogging

Leaves that reach the downspout pack into the elbow. Keeping them out of the gutter keeps the downspout clear as well.

What's included

  • A full gutter clean and downspout flush before anything is fitted
  • Repairs to seams, hangers and slope so the guarded gutter drains properly
  • Guards fitted to each run and secured at the roof edge
  • Downspout openings checked after fitting
  • Advice on which trees and roof sections will still need a look each year

Gutter guards and the San Jose weather.

Many San Jose neighborhoods have mature street trees and backyard oaks that drop leaves from October well into winter, exactly when the rain arrives. Guards keep the gutters working through that overlap. They reduce cleaning, they do not end it: the top of the guard still needs an occasional rinse or brush.

Why the gutters are cleaned and repaired first

A guard locks in whatever is underneath it. Fitting one over a dirty or sagging gutter means paying twice later, once to take the guard off and once to fix the gutter.

Gutter guards: questions

Do gutter guards mean I never clean my gutters again?

No. Guards keep most debris out, but fine grit and some needles still collect. They turn regular full cleanings into an occasional check and rinse.

Can guards go on my existing gutters?

Usually, yes, if the gutters are sound. We clean and repair them first, because a guard on a sagging or leaking gutter just hides the problem.

Are gutter guards worth it in San Jose?

For homes under heavy tree cover, usually yes. For a house with no trees nearby, a yearly clean is often enough, and we will say so.
